If you’re a new parent, I know how overwhelming it can feel- there are so many decisions to make in those early days. From feedings and naps to healing and figuring out your new rhythm- it can be a lot.
But newborn photography doesn’t have to be one more thing on your to-do list. My goal is to make the entire experience calm, simple, and supportive- so you can just be with your baby while I capture it all.
When I had newborn photos taken of my own babies, I didn’t realize how much I’d treasure them later. The tiny details, the way they fit in my arms, the quiet rhythm of those early days. Those images have become little time capsules of a season that passed so quickly.
That’s why I care so deeply about helping you do the same; not just to take beautiful photos, but to preserve what this moment feels like before it changes forever.
Let’s dive into some of the most common questions about newborn photography.

When you’re choosing a newborn photographer, experience matters- not just with a camera, but with babies. You want someone who understands how sacred and delicate those first weeks are, who knows how to read your baby’s cues, moves slowly and safely, and creates a calm, supportive space for your family.
My approach is gentle, baby-led, and grounded in years of working with families during this tender season.
I believe the early days are meant for rest, bonding, and healing. For staying close, soaking in your baby, and finding your new rhythm together. That’s why all of my newborn sessions take place in your home. There’s no need to pack a diaper bag or rush out the door; I come to you, so you can stay exactly where you’re meant to be.
These early days are sacred and fleeting. You deserve photos that honor that; the softness, the stillness, the deep love that fills the room. The kind of images that will bring you right back to what this season felt like, every time you look at them.

Your newborn session is meant to feel slow, peaceful, and entirely centered around you and your baby. I take a baby-led approach, which means we move at your little one’s pace- pausing for feeds, cuddles, and diaper changes as needed. There’s no rush, no pressure, and no need for perfection.
Your newborn session takes place right where life is unfolding, in the comfort of your own home. There’s something so special about documenting this season in the very space where your baby is loved and cared for every day.
I’ll gently guide you through the process while making sure your baby always feels safe, warm, and supported. Every detail, from the cozy warmth of the room to the soft textures I bring along, is chosen with care to help your baby stay content and comfortable.
I love including parents and siblings in these sessions. Those tender, in-between moments- the way your baby fits in your arms, the sleepy smiles, the proud big-brother kisses, often become the most meaningful images.
Because babies change so quickly, I recommend scheduling your newborn session for within the first two weeks after birth, while they’re still curled up and sleepy. Booking during pregnancy ensures I can hold space for you around your due date, so we can photograph those first, fleeting days with ease and intention.

The beauty of an in-home session is that you don’t need to worry about packing or preparing much, because everything you need is already right where you are. I bring a few simple items and soft, neutral textiles that photograph beautifully, but the heart of your session comes from you, your baby, and your home.
We’ll use the natural light that fills your space, like the soft glow through a nursery window or the warmth across your bed, to create images that feel honest and organic. You don’t need a picture-perfect house; even one good window can hold the most beautiful light. If possible, I recommend gently tidying the room with the best light, since that’s usually where most photos will take place.
There’s no need for props or elaborate setups. If there’s something special you’d like to include, like a handmade blanket, a family heirloom, or a favorite onesie or stuffy, I love weaving those personal touches into your images. But truly, the most meaningful photos come from the quiet connection between you and your baby.
So take a deep breath. You don’t need to have anything ready. Just be home, be together, and I’ll take care of the rest.

When it comes to what to wear for your newborn session, simple and comfortable is always best. I recommend soft, neutral tones that photograph beautifully and help keep the focus on your connection and your baby. Think creams, taupes, warm grays, or muted pastels, colors that feel natural and timeless.
Avoid bold patterns or bright colors, as they can distract from the tenderness of the moment. Soft textures like linen, cotton, or knits add warmth and depth without feeling too posed or polished.
For mamas, flowy dresses, cozy sweaters, or anything you feel beautiful and at ease in always photograph best. For dads and siblings, keep it simple, with soft neutrals, solid layers, and bare feet if you’d like a relaxed, homey feel.
And don’t worry about finding the perfect outfit. What matters most is that you feel comfortable, connected, and at home in your own skin, that’s what makes the photos truly timeless.
I also have a OS (one size fits most) beautiful white gown available for mamas to borrow, as well as, a small newborn wardrobe consisting of cozy newborn outfits and fabrics. These have been intentionally selected because they are, both loved by clients and photograph beautifully. Please let me know ahead of time if you would like to borrow any of these so that I can have them ready for your session.

After your session, you’ll receive 5 sneak peek images within 24 hours so you can relive those first sweet moments right away. Your final, fully edited newborn gallery will be delivered within 3 to 4 weeks.
I offer a range of packages that include both digital files and printed keepsakes, and I’m always happy to help you choose or customize an option that fits your family and how you want to preserve these memories.
If you begin with one package and later decide you’d like to upgrade, that’s no problem, just let me know.
Newborn photography is an investment in remembering a season that passes in the blink of an eye. My in-home newborn sessions typically range from $500 to $1200, depending on the package you choose.
Each package is designed to fit different needs- from simple digital and print collections to keepsake and heirloom options that include handwoven keepsake baskets, professionally designed albums and more. Every gallery is hand-edited and thoughtfully curated to tell your family’s story in a way that feels honest, beautiful, and timeless.
I pour my heart into every session- creating a calm, supportive experience and images that will become family treasures for years to come. If you’d like more details about specific packages or what’s included, I’m happy to walk you through the options and help you find the best fit for your family.

So there you have it. Newborn photography is such a meaningful way to remember the earliest days with your baby- the tiny details, the quiet love, the beginning of everything.
